The Ultimate Guide to Boutique Shopping in Paris

Paris, the original shopping paradise! A beautiful city with much to offer, Paris is still the first city to come to mind when thinking of fashion and glamor. Let’s take a look beyond the golden triangle and explore what this timeless destination has to offer for shoppers! Since these stores have multiple locations, I will not be listing addresses here.

Clothes

Let’s start with an obvious one: Clothing. As one of the many things Paris is known best for, there is no shortage of clothing in this city. Here are a few of my personal favorite boutiques:

  • Antoine et Lili

Although it is one of the lower-end boutiques on the list, Antoine et Lili does not disappoint when it comes to variety and quality. They carry everything imaginable, all handmade- handbags, shoes, jewelry, and clothes! I recommend this store if you’re looking for some basics to add to your closet or a splash of color.

  • Gérard Darel

Although a chain store, Gérard Darel makes high quality, unique garments. Many of their clothes are made from materials like wool and cashmere, and they make great additions to both a professional and party wardrobe.

  • Claudie Pierlot

Next on our list is a creative twist on classic professional attire. Claudie Pierlot’s designs are both playful and timeless, as well as made to last. (Although, I admit, customer service can be quite lacking at many of these boutiques.)

  • Eric Bompard

Eric Bompard is a brand famous for its cashmere and knitwork, and in my own experience, their sweaters are definitely made to last. I recommend going to the boutique in person because fit can sometimes be a bit off with their sizing.

Handbags and Leather

When in Paris, the handbag options are seemingly infinite. But with Chanel’s recent quality nosedive and many other supposedly quality designers following suit, shoppers may want to consider turning to smaller brands. Here are my recommendations:

  • Louvreuse

With a couple boutiques around Paris, Louvreuse is an excellent shop for eclectic and unique, but still well-made bags. Their designs feature geometric lines and interesting shapes, and they offer free monogramming on many of their products.

  • Césaire

Designer Stephanie Césaire is an excellent option if you’re looking for a more classic, classy bag. The bags are beautifully built and last for years to come (I’ve had mine for 5 years, used it regularly, and it looks as good as new!)

Jewelry

Jewelry is something that’s best when it’s handmade, and every boutique I list will be just that. Paris is filled to the brim with talented jewelry designers, but there are a few that particularly stand out to me- in terms of creativity, that is.

  • Isabelle Langlois

If you’re like me and you love colored gemstones, you’re going to love Isabelle Langlois. Her designs all tell a story and immediately catch your attention. If you have a few thousand bucks to spare, there’s no better place to spend it than here!

  • Legion Paris

For those who like a raw, forged look for their silver jewelry, Legion is the way to go. Every design is rough and simplistic with pieces ranging from $200 to $2,000.

  • Harpo Paris

Harpo is a Turquoise jewelry boutique that makes both jewelry and items for the home. They make wonderful men’s jewelry as well, and it’s a good place to stop by if you’re in need of a new choker or bracelet.

Ceramics/Glassware

After a long day of shopping for your wardrobe, you may want to relax with a meal or a drink. Thankfully, Paris has all you need to do this too! If Baccarat’s become boring, take a look at these alternatives!

  • Astier de Villatte

A true master of the art of ceramics, Astier de Villatte makes beautiful dishware and decor. Their boutique alone is a sight to behold! If you want some new elegant pieces to add to your home, this is the place for you.

  • House of Porcelain

All the way up in the 10th arrondissement is the House of Porcelain, a must-visit for any porcelain lover. They have everything imaginable in stock, and the area around the store is nice to walk around.

Stationery

I love a good leather notebook or fountain pen, so every time I travel, I look to see where I can get one. There are many options for this in Paris, so if you too love writing, here are a couple places for all your paper and ink needs.

  • L’Ecritoire

L’Ecritoire is the place to go if you want something old-fashioned: Handmade paper, quill pens, and leather journals are just a few things you’ll find at this little shop.

  • Papeterie Montparnasse

If you’re after something a bit more upscale, Papeterie Montparnasse would be the best place in the city to look. They have the biggest selection of fountain pens in Paris, along with many inks and a handful of different types of notebooks.

Specialty Foods & Chocolate

For our final section, here are a few places to check out for some interesting foods to take home with you.

  • La Maison du Miel

If you like honey, you definitely have to stop by La Maison du Miel. Inside you’ll find every type of honey imaginable, along with great gifts!

  • Fromagerie Boursault

Cheese is plentiful in Paris, but this shop has by far the most variety and friendliest staff. You can sample different cheeses and pick what you like best to take home!

  • Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse/Debauve et Gallais

Well, let’s face it guys, I’m getting tired, so yes, I did combine two into one. But, these are both fantastic chocolate shops that I highly recommend. It’s hard to say which is better, but if I had to choose, I’d say Debauve & Gallais. And if you don’t know already, the best macaron chain is Pierre Hermé!

I hope everyone reading this has a wonderful day, and thanks for reading!
